Types of System We Install
- Wall split — the most common solution, one indoor unit per room. Efficient, quiet, and quick to install.
- Multi-split — several indoor units connected to a single outdoor unit. Ideal where terrace or facade space is limited, or where the condominium restricts external units.
- Ceiling cassette — recessed into a false ceiling, distributing air in four directions. Common in shops, offices and open-plan living spaces.
- Ducted systems — hidden entirely, with only the grilles visible. The discreet option where appearance matters.
Servicing and Maintenance
Air conditioning that is never serviced loses efficiency, gets noisier and eventually fails — usually on the hottest weekend of the year. Filters clog, coils foul up, and the unit works harder for less cooling. In coastal Algarve properties there is an additional factor: salt air corrodes outdoor units faster than inland installations, which makes regular checks more important here than in most places.
We service units we installed and units we did not, including annual checks for holiday rental owners who are not in the country year-round. If your aircon is blowing warm, dripping, or smells musty when it starts, it needs attention rather than replacement in most cases.
Choosing the Right Size
Undersized air conditioning runs constantly and never quite cools; oversized aircon cools too fast, cycles on and off, and dehumidifies poorly, leaving the room cold and clammy. Correct sizing depends on floor area, ceiling height, glazing, orientation and insulation. We work this out properly rather than guessing from square metres, which is the most common reason a system disappoints its owner.
